Numerous surf casters have asked if I make casting eggs. The answer now is yes. I am building 2 oz casting eggs. They are still sealed and primed like any of my plugs, but they are not epoxy coated, there is no need for that process.

Dropper Rigs

I have used dropper rigs for a number of years. I wish that I could say that the fish always hit my plug but that would be false. The teaser itself frequently catches a large number of fish. This dropper is made in such a way as to limit the amount of twist that so often occurs while fishing with a dropper. I only put a swivel at the fishing rod end because there are so many different types of snap and/or snap swivel combinations that fishermen prefer as well as those that like to tie directly to their lure. Dropper rigs are made with 40 or 60 pound monofilament. Colors are black/purple, chartreuse/white, olive/white, pink/white and all white.

I have always enjoyed fishing with wooden plugs mainly because that was all that was available when I was a youngster. Like most fishermen and women I am not opposed to using a lure made out of just about anything short of explosives. However custom-made lures are still my absolute favorite with which to catch fish. Whether it be fly, spinner or wood there is much more satisfaction in the catch when made by my own hands. I use the best components that I can find. These plugs will eventually show teeth marks and hook swing. As a fisherman I refer to these marks as MOJO. When a plug has MOJO it has been catching fish!
